How to register a staging On-Premises license?

A staging license lets you run a separate, non-production instance of DocuSeal Pro (or Enterprise) On-Premises alongside your production server for testing. It is included with your On-Premises subscription at no extra cost, and it does not require a separate purchase.

You must register production first

The staging option only becomes available after your production Pro (or Enterprise) On-Premises license has been registered. Until a production host is registered, the On-Premises License page shows only the standard registration form. Once production is registered, a Staging button appears next to your production host.

How to register a staging license

  1. Go to the On-Premises License page in your console:

  2. Make sure your production host is registered first.

  3. Click the Staging button shown next to the production host.

  4. In the dialog, enter your staging installation URL (for example, https://docuseal-staging.your-company-name.com).

  5. Click Register.

The console delivers the license to your staging server during registration, so the staging app must already be running and reachable at that URL.

Requirements

  • The staging URL must use HTTPS on port 443. HTTP, custom ports, and localhost are not allowed.
  • The staging domain must be different from your production domain.
  • The staging app must be publicly reachable when you register, so the console can deliver the license.

What the staging license includes

  • It matches your subscription plan (Pro or Enterprise).
  • It uses the same users limit as your production subscription.
  • No additional subscription or payment is required.

One staging server per account

You can register a single staging server. After it is registered, the Staging button is replaced by a staging card with Re-register, Visit, and De-register actions. To move staging to a different domain, de-register the current staging host first, then register the new one.

De-registering staging

Use the De-register button on the staging card to release the license. This is independent of your production license, so de-registering staging does not affect your production server.
