How to change completed document filename?

You can customize the filenames of completed (signed) documents using the Document download filename format setting.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → eSign, or open the settings page directly:

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page to the Document download filename format setting.

  3. Select one of the available format options from the dropdown and save.

Available formats

The dropdown uses template variables that are replaced with the document’s actual values when it is downloaded:

Format template Example filename
{document.name} Document Name.pdf
{document.name} - {submission.status} Document Name - Signed.pdf
{document.name} - {submission.submitters} Document Name - name@domain.com.pdf
{document.name} - {submission.submitters} - {submission.completed_at} Document Name - name@domain.com - 31 Dec 06:00 PM.pdf

The last option, which combines the document name, submitters, and completion date and time, is selected by default.
