Are electronic signatures the same as digital signatures?

Electronic signatures are a broad category for any electronic indication of consent, like a typed name or a clicked button. Digital signatures, a subset of electronic signatures, use cryptography (Public Key Infrastructure) for higher security, ensuring the signer’s identity and the document’s integrity. While all digital signatures are electronic, not all electronic signatures have the security features of digital signatures.
